Jaxsoaps Moonlight & Kentucky Rain bar is made with collected Kentucky Rain in honor of our move from California to Kentucky almost 10 years ago. The fragrance is soft and powdery and it seems to attract many followers along with the creamy goats milk lather. I have yet to hear of anyone that says they don't love it!

Have you ever noticed how dry your skin can feel after a shower with commercially prepared soap? Most over the counter soaps have a ph around 9 or 10, which is very high, and similar to bleach or household cleaners. This high ph can damage or neutralize the natural acid mantle on your skin and leave it unprotected from bacteria, infection, allergic reactions and dehydration.
Jaxsoaps are natural, gentle soaps, free of harsh additives and ph balanced naturally to keep the acid mantle intact and leave your skin soft and healthy, with the added benefits of essential oils.
All of Jaxsoaps cold process soaps are handcrafted
in small batches, one recipe at a time, using only the finest natural ingredients.
Each recipe may include different combinations of the saponified oils of Coconut, Soy Olive, Palm Kernel, Palm, Castor, Sweet Almond and nuturing butters such as Shea, Mango and Cocoabutter. The soaps are fragranced using High quality essential oils and the finest fragrance oils. Essential oils are also considered and used for the specific healing or nurturing qualities believed to be inherent in them.
Glycerin is a natural byproduct of the saponification process and remains in all Jaxxsoaps. You will not find this to be true of many commercially prepared products. There are no petroleum products in anything Jaxsoaps that touched your skin!

Saponified oils of shea butter, safflower oil, extra virgin olive, castor, coconut oil, tamanue oil, organic coco butter, oatmeal, wheat germ, powdered milk, vitamin E oil, vegetable glycerin and just a hint of scent.
Shea Butter: Shea Butter is known for its moisturizing and emollient properties. It is often used as a base for medicinal ointments and is often found in many skin care products, such as cosmetics, lotions and soaps. Because of its vitamin rich qualities, Shea Butter is beneficial in treating dry and itchy skin, sunburns, chapped and damaged skin, as well as many other irritated skin conditions. Shea butter also offers a limited amount of UV protection and can be added into sunscreen recipes.
Coconut Oil: Coconut Oil is useful in formulations for dry, itchy, sensitive skin. It will not clog pores, and it absorbs readily into the skin. Coconut Oil is a gift to the soap making industry because of its resistance to rancidity and contribution towards making a hard bar of soap with a wonderfully fluffy lather. Coconut Oil is light and non-greasy.
Tamanu Oil: Tamanu Oil is hydrating, and it also helps regenerate skin cells. Research shows that Tamanu Oil is a strong anti-inflammatory. It is useful for the treatment of rheumatism, eczema and inflammatory skin conditions. The oil has been used for its ability to help heal cuts and wounds while acting as a germicide to prevent infection

It is very difficult to make soap with goat milk as the only liquid. The reason is that when you combine the lye with the liquid it causes the temperature to rise. If the temp gets to hot then you burn the goat milk, which not only makes a real yucky color but it destroys most of the value of the goat milk. We have perfected a method to use 100% goat milk without burning the milk. Our Soap is approximately 30% goat milkAlthough the exact origins are unknown, milk has been used in all kinds of skin care products for thousands of years. It has been said that Cleopatra preserved her renowned beauty by bathing in goat milk. Hot process soap can be made today and used or sold tomorrow. Cold process soap takes 4 to 8 weeks to completely cure. However once again since you are heating the mixture hot enough to burn the milk you are destroying a lot of the benefits. We have developed a method of low temperature cold process which keeps the soap from getting too hot, and the milk from burning
