I have some older Essential Depot NaOH that expired in 2019, and master batched oils from last year that are not out of date nor rancid. I used my normal recipe and the trace is SUPER fast. Just hand stirring and no fragrance oil. I made a new oil batch with just olive oil and coconut and hand stirred and it came to thick trace in under 2 minutes. I can’t figure out what’s wrong. Is it the lye or the oils? The folks at ED suggested I ask here.
